Choose your adventure

Survival is home. Fresh is the second realm.

Both realms use the Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a client. The launcher installs and updates the files for the profile you select; choose Survival as the main realm or Fresh for staged expansion progression.

Survival

Custom realm

A custom survival layer for Wrath that makes the world itself part of the challenge. Plan supplies, find shelter, and adapt to changing conditions as you adventure.

Food & hydration

Hunger and thirst change as you play. Meals and drinks restore them; neglect brings gameplay penalties. Cooking and survival abilities add ways to recover.

Vigor & movement

Combat, jumping, swimming, and sprinting use Vigor. Survival abilities add tools such as sprint, dodge, and second wind, with exhaustion to manage.

Weather & exposure

Outdoor conditions include rain, cold, heat, and thunderstorms. Exposure can affect Vigor and health, so preparation matters.

Camps & rest

Build from a basic camp toward more comfortable shelters. Camps provide a place to recover, rest, and gain comfort-based benefits.

Professions & gathering

Professions have realm-specific perks, and the profile includes the Survival client interface and Work Order tools. Tinder trees and other resource nodes add reasons to explore.

Risk & recovery

Ambushes and injury mechanics raise the stakes. Hardcore is an optional, permanent character commitment with a different death outcome; standard play remains available.

The Survival profile has its own addon and patch set. Switching profiles in the launcher updates the selected server’s files while preserving unrelated addons and personal client files.

A secondary playerbot-populated realm built around a long-form journey from Classic through The Burning Crusade and into Wrath of the Lich King.

Era-by-era progression: level through each expansion, then complete its raid progression to open the next era.
A living world: playerbots populate both factions, join dungeon groups, and support solo or small-group play.
Custom tools: DungeonClear, Bot Steward, battleground bot commands, profession services, and other HXC quality-of-life features.
Distinct profile: Fresh-specific addons and patches are installed and maintained separately from Survival.

Survival features

A Wrath world shaped by what you carry, where you rest, and how you adapt. Survival is the main HXC realm; choose standard play or opt into the high-stakes hardcore rules.

Stay alive in the wild

Hunger & hydration

Keep food and water in your plans. Meals, drinks, cooking, and Survival abilities help refill your needs; neglect brings penalties. Sitting to eat can build a lasting Well Fed benefit.

Vigor & abilities

Combat and movement draw on Vigor. Sprint, dodge, and second wind give you ways to respond, while exhaustion and recovery make timing matter.

Weather & exposure

Rain, snow, cold, heat, and thunderstorms affect outdoor travel. Shelter, safe areas, and preparation help you recover from exposure.

Injuries & treatment

Bleeds and poisons can call for treatment. Bandages and healing items connect your supplies to recovery in the field.

Make a home on the road

Build up your camp

Start with a basic camp and develop it through fellowship tiers. Camps offer a place to rest and recover, with comfort benefits as your setup improves.

Gather Survival Tinder

Find restored Tinder Trees across the world and collect tinder for your camp. The Survival addon helps you track resources and interact with the gathering loop.

Wayfarer’s Bulletin Board

Take the daily camp supply contract, gather four Survival Tinder, and turn them in at a Survival camp or safe town for food, water, and a level-based coin reward.

Profession perks & progress

Professions have Survival-specific bonuses and grant experience as you gather or craft. The Wayfarer’s Journal tracks profession milestones and recorded dungeon first clears.

Prepare for danger

Scarlet ambushes

Warnings give you time to prepare before Scarlet forces arrive. Ambushers scale in five-level bands and carry gear matched to their level range.

Claim your milestones

The Wayfarer’s Journal shows progress cards for profession goals and recorded first clears. Completed rewards are claimed individually and paid once.

Choose your stakes

Play the standard Survival rules or opt into hardcore for a permanent character commitment and a distinct death outcome.

Survival client tools

The launcher keeps the Survival addon and its custom client data current, including the resource radar, camp board, journal, abilities, and status information.

Explore the other realm

Fresh remains available as the secondary realm, with staged Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Wrath progression, playerbots, and its own profile.

Fresh features & progression

Fresh is the secondary HXC realm: Wrath 3.3.5a with staged Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Wrath progression, a populated bot world, and a broad set of HXC gameplay and quality-of-life tools.

Rates & economy

8× experience

Kills, quests, exploration, pets, dungeon-finder quests, and battleground XP all run at eight times Blizzard rates.

6× reputation

Faction reputation from kills, quests, and battlegrounds is six times stock Wrath.

10× mob gold

Copper from creature loot is multiplied by ten. Item drop rates stay at 1× so gear still feels earned.

Auction House bot

The AH stays stocked, including profession goods, so you can buy mats and extras without an empty house.

Vendors, ranked by quality

Covered merchants list their best stock first. Rare and epic featured items are protected from bots buying them out before you see them.

How progression works

Every character starts in Classic. You cannot skip to Outland or Northrend by ding-ing 58. XP is capped until you finish that expansion’s raid story. The world you see — NPCs, quests, raids, even riding — matches your character’s era, not the whole server’s.

Level 1–60 — Vanilla

Quest, dungeon, and raid the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor like 2006. Damage and healing are tuned down so 60 content still hits hard. At 60, XP stops until Vanilla raid progression is done — you do not walk into Hellfire at 58.
Vanilla raids (still level 60)

Tiers unlock by killing the previous end boss, in order: Molten Core (douse runes with Aqual Quintessence) → Onyxia → Blackwing Lair → Zul’Gurub / the AQ war → Ahn’Qiraj → Naxxramas 40. Finish Kel’Thuzad and the Dark Portal opens.
Level 60–70 — The Burning Crusade

Take the Dark Portal into Outland and level to 70. Raids unlock in Blizzard patch order: Karazhan / Gruul / Magtheridon → Serpentshrine & Tempest Keep → Hyjal & Black Temple → Sunwell Plateau. XP stops at 70 until Kil’jaeden is down.
Level 70–80 — Wrath of the Lich King

Northrend opens after Sunwell. Level to 80, then raid tiers in order: Naxxramas / Eye of Eternity / Obsidian Sanctum → Ulduar → Trial of the Crusader → Icecrown Citadel → Ruby Sanctum.

Your era, your character

A friend who has already opened Northrend does not pull you there. Their Outland and yours can look different. Grouping across phases is allowed on Fresh — you are not locked out of a friend’s group.

Vanilla still feels like Vanilla

Quest sparkles are off. Repeatable Classic quests still give XP. Fishing has to be leveled in the right zones. Molten Core runes are manual. Catch-up quest XP from later patches is rolled back.

Blood Elves, Draenei, Death Knights

On this realm those races and DKs can be created immediately, but a new character still starts in the Vanilla timeline unless they are already past those gates on that character.

GM check

Stuck or testing? .ip get shows a character’s stage. .ip set can move it. Normal play is: level → clear that expansion’s raids → next expansion.

A living world of playerbots

Populated Azeroth

Thousands of playerbots roam both factions, spread across level 1–80. They quest, grind, use taxis, and make cities feel lived-in.

Your own army

Invite bots, add class companions, and keep alts. Group invitations are allowed. Summon, revive, and repair work when you call them.

Dungeon Finder

Bots join LFG so you can queue 5-mans instead of waiting for a full human group.

Bot Steward

Minimap panel (/bs) to follow, tank, heal, attack, stay, buff, and send plain-English whispers to party bots you control.

Dungeons & leveling

Dungeon Clear

A tank bot can run the instance for you: trash, bosses, doors, loot pauses. Start with .dc on or the DungeonClear addon (/dc). Turn it off to tank yourself.

Fuck Face Franklyn

New characters get a summon item for Franklyn — dungeon quests, vendor, repair, bank, auction house, and training. He can bulk-accept instance quests and skip class-quest gates for stances, forms, pets, and mounts.

AOE loot

Loot nearby corpses in one pass (about 55 yards) instead of clicking every body after a pack.

Progression is per character

See How progression works above. Short version: 1–60 Vanilla, finish Classic raids, Outland to 70, finish TBC raids, then Northrend to 80.

Professions

Profession XP

Each gathering or crafting skill-up grants kill-equivalent XP (including the 8× rate). Mining, herbalism, and skinning also grant XP on gather.

Capital crafters

Bots in major cities offer profession services — they come to you, trade, and pay a fee. Enchanting uses a real queue instead of a dead whisper.

Enchanter Queue

Whisper YES and the bot teleports to your floor, groups, and trades mats first. Addon highlights the exact recipe. .eq lists your queue; SKIP passes.

GatherMate

Node locations for mining and herbalism ship with the launcher overlay so you are not starting a gather map from scratch.

PvP

Honorable kill gold & XP

World PvP pays extra gold (about 1.7×) and XP as if the target were two levels above you. Nearby teammates who get HK credit share the XP.

Battleground satchels

Winners get two Satchels of Helpful Goods; losers get one. Draws still pay. Extra gold at the end is based on your HKs (5× winner / 2× loser).

HK gold table

Honorable-kill copper uses a boosted bracket table (2.4×) for real players, including world PvP.

Bot BG

Command nearby playerbots in battlegrounds with /bgbots so premades and PUGs are not empty on your side.

Quality of life

Transmog

Collection-style appearances: unlock looks from gear you equip or quest rewards. Hidden appearances are allowed. Set bonuses still work if the tooltip looks wrong.

Homebrew Nourishment

Sit still ~10 seconds while eating to earn a lasting Well Fed (30 min ordinary / 60 min cooked). Death clears it. Addon shows real values on tooltips (/nourishment).

Weather & time

Outdoor weather actually starts when you enter a zone. Day/night lighting follows a normal Wrath cycle.

HXC launcher

Finds 3.3.5a automatically, writes realmlist (localhost on this PC, play.hxcsurvivalcraft.com for friends), and installs server addons and custom patches.

GM tools

Portal accounts are GM

Every account created on this site is GM rank 3 on all realms. Use .gm on, fly, tele, appear, and the GM addons. Relog if you created the account before this change.

Homebrew GM

In-game suite for players, bots, items, spells, travel, and commands — search, give, teleport, manage characters without memorizing every . command.

Bot Steward admin

/bs admin for GPS, online list, revive, fly, gold, bot add/list, Stormwind/Orgrimmar tele, appear, and a free . command box.

What we did not change

Stock Wrath item and creature drop chances. Honor stays 1× except the PvP gold/XP modules above. Reputation is 6×. This is still 3.3.5a — not Retail, not Classic, not Cataclysm.

How to play

Follow these steps after creating your account.

Download HXC Launcher

The launcher updates HXC addons and signed client patches when we publish game changes. Select Survival for the main realm or Fresh for the secondary realm. This private release uses a self-signed publisher certificate. Before trusting it, compare the certificate SHA-1 thumbprint with the value the realm owner shares through a separate channel. Do not disable Defender or run a file it identifies as malware.

Install WoW 3.3.5a if needed

You need World of Warcraft 3.3.5a (build 12340) — Wrath of the Lich King only, not Retail or Classic.
Download 3.3.5a client
Play

Open the launcher and select Survival for the main realm or Fresh for the secondary realm. It finds your 3.3.5a install automatically; use Browse and pick Wow.exe if needed. Click Play to sync that profile, then select the matching realm in World of Warcraft.

Manual setup (without the launcher)

In your WoW folder, edit WTF/Config.wtf (create it if missing) and add these lines:

SET realmlist "…"
SET patchList "…"

The launcher updates WTF/Config.wtf and Data/enUS/realmlist.wtf automatically when you press Play.

Common issues

Can't open the website or the launcher can't download

Use https://hxcsurvivalcraft.com/ for the account portal. The site uses HTTPS; the WoW gateway and realm ports stay separate. Before trusting the launcher, verify its publisher certificate using a fingerprint shared separately by the realm owner. Never bypass a Windows Defender malware warning.

Stuck at "Connecting" or can't reach realm list

Run the launcher and click Play — it writes realmlist … for you. Use Wrath 3.3.5a only, not Retail or Classic. Playing on the host PC uses localhost automatically.

"Unable to validate game version"

Your client must be build 12340 (3.3.5a). Other versions won't work.

Wrong username or password

Usernames are stored in uppercase. Try your username in ALL CAPS on the login screen.

GM commands do nothing

Portal accounts are GM rank 3. Relog, then .gm on. If the account is older than this change, ask the host to grant GM.
